Jessica Walford is a self taught visual artist based in Karratha, Western Australia. Known for her dreamy ocean & mandala themed artworks that are created in a purpose-built studio in the heart of her home that she shares with her husband, and her three young children. Her “Three Birds”.
Jess grew up on the south coast of NSW where the beach and being on the water was a major part of her upbringing. This love of the ocean continued with relocating to Karratha in 2010, and is a major source of her inspiration. Jess fell in love with the Pilbara and has become a valued member of the community.
Deeply influenced by her love of the ocean & nature, Jess’ designs and colours in each piece are memories of her sun-chasing adventures. Jess’ curious, playful nature has allowed her to have experience working in watercolour, acrylic, alcohol ink, traditional oil, resin, woodworks & digital design.
Jess’ practice is based on an interest in how art can contribute to mental health, in which she is now a Certified Therapeutic Art Life Coach.
Jess loves to keep her artworks unique and functional and has become internationally renowned with works finding themselves in private collections around the world.
With a long term goal of entering the Archibald Prize, Jess is currently exploring murals & laser cut steel art in her practice, with dreams of one day holding her own exhibition.
